How to file Income Tax Return (ITR 1) Online for Salaried Employees AY 2017-18?

Income Tax Return filing is a very easy process and most of us having income more than the basic exemption limit of Rs. 2,50,000 are bound under law to file our Income Tax Returns. But in many cases I have seen that people are very hesitant to file their return themselves and are afraid of making mistakes while filing returns. Thus they hire a consultant to file their returns. In my opinion, hiring a consultant is a good step if your return filing process is complicated like in case of a person running a business or profession. But in case of salaried employees/pensioners, who are not having income under any other head or having only interest or dividend income along with salary/pension, filing of return is a layman’s job and can be done by the assessee himself very easily.

So in this article, I will show you step by step how to file income tax return online for income from salary/pension easily using online ITR Forms 1.
